Improved combustion fuel

Experience shows that diesel engines are more efficient than gasoline engines. However, older diesel engines emit more harmful particulates and nitrogen oxides. Various measures have been taken to limit these emissions, such as the requirement to equip diesel cars with a particulate filter. This filter works by trapping small particles. After that, it automatically regenerates by burning captured particles. The problem is that the exhaust gases have to reach a temperature of at least 600 °C to start this combustion. This can be particularly problematic when driving around town, as the exhaust gas temperature usually does not exceed 400°C.
