ILSAC GF-6A

ILSAC GF‑6A is the latest version of the American ILSAC program, jointly developed by AA and API, which sets increased requirements for viscosity, wear, oxidative stability and corrosion protection. The specification is targeted at gasoline and light‑diesel engines, including turbocharged units, that operate over a wide temperature range and require fuel economy. GF‑6A requires a low content of sulfate, aromatic and phosphorus compounds (Low‑SAPS), ensuring compatibility with after‑treatment systems (DPF) and catalysts while maintaining high protective capability. Oils meeting GF‑6A are suitable for modern models from Toyota, Honda, Ford, Chevrolet, as well as for direct‑injection and variable valve timing engines, where viscosity stability and turbine protection are important.
