Types of motor oils for 2T engines
Oil for two-stroke engines is different from that used in four-stroke engines. Operating in completely different conditions, they physically cannot use the same oil.
The basic basis is the most ordinary, slightly refined (85-98%). But to give it the unique properties necessary for the operation of a two-stroke engine, special additives are needed. They allow you to achieve high-quality operation of a two-stroke engine, and keep all parts lubricated.
High-quality two-stroke oils can be either mineral or fully synthetic, or a combination of the two. In the case of outboard motors used by boats, the oil can be fully biodegradable to ensure minimal environmental pollution.
Depending on the characteristics of the drive and its operating conditions, additives are selected quite strictly. The fact is that the lubricant enters the combustion chamber along with the fuel, and if the lubricating properties are insufficient, the crank mechanism will wear out very quickly and fail. And if the oil is too viscous, or there is an excess of it, the toxicity of the exhaust will exceed all permissible standards. All additives are quite individual, and it, designed for operation in a two-stroke motorcycle, is definitely not suitable for a lawnmower engine.
Similarly, oils must effectively combat soot deposits in the combustion chamber. It is also very important that the piston rings are not fixed by soot. If this happens, the compression in the combustion chamber will drop sharply, and the engine will lose most of its power. To do this, detergent additives are added to it to decompose the soot and remove it through the engine exhaust system. These can be phenolic and alkaline compounds and additives. These additives not only effectively combat already formed deposits, but also do not allow new ones to form. Absorbing them while still in a volatile state and removing them into the exhaust system.
But the number of additives does not end there. The peculiarity of the two-stroke engine operation means that the lubricant will contain additives that help avoid foaming, will protect the idle engine from corrosion (residual film), and the ability of the oil to dissolve very quickly and efficiently not only in gasoline, but also in the air mixture.
Fully synthetic, unlike mineral, make the engine exhaust much cleaner, due to the fact that little burns efficiently with the fuel. But this does not affect their lubricating properties. They remain at the same high level, and help to cope with friction normally even in very difficult operating conditions.
Bench testing is an important part of research, and without it, no two-stroke oil goes on sale. When buying a lubricant, you can be absolutely sure that it has passed the test and has been approved for use inside two-stroke engines.
Oils for 2-stroke XENUM engines
This category presents the best universal oils for two-stroke (2T) engines, which are used both in boat engines (Tohatsu, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Mercury, Parsun, Hidea, Evinrude) and for motor vehicles. Also, these oils are ideal for Stihl, Husqvarna chainsaws, etc. In addition, this oil is used for chainsaws, trimmers, lawn mowers and other equipment that requires a high-quality two-stroke oil.
