Cooling system
Cooling system — intended for warming up the engine, maintaining the optimal engine temperature (85-95 C*)
Methods of cooling
Two methods of cooling are used in engines:
In the first case, the heat from the walls of the cylinders is transferred by the liquid, and in the second - directly into the environment (air).
The cooling system, in addition to the main function of cooling the engine, performs a number of other functions, which include:
- air heating in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system;
- oil cooling in the lubrication system;
- cooling exhaust gases in exhaust gas recirculation system;
- air cooling in turbocharging system;
- cooling working fluid in automatic gearbox.
