ZF TE-ML 14A

The ZF TE‑ML 14A specification defines the requirements for synthetic transmission oils for ZF automatic gearboxes, in particular for the 8HP series (8HP70, 8HP90, 8HP95) and the new 9HP, as well as for some 6HP and 5HP models that require increased thermal resistance and stable friction characteristics. Oil that complies with TE‑ML 14A must provide wear protection under high load, resistance to oxidation and deposit formation, and maintain the correct viscosity in the 75 W‑90 range at operating temperatures up to 150 °C. The specification provides compatibility with electronically controlled valves, friction discs and cooling systems, without requiring special SAPS additives, making it suitable for transmissions with a catalyst or DPF without risk of their degradation. TE‑ML 14A is an evolution of the earlier approvals TE‑ML 02B, 02F and 03D, therefore oils approved under the newer version retain backward compatibility with gearboxes designed for the older standards. Choosing a lubricant marked ZF TE‑ML 14A guarantees compliance with the manufacturer’s technical recommendations, extends the service life of the automatic transmission and supports optimal torque transfer efficiency.
