ZF TE-ML 11B

The ZF TE‑ML 11B specification defines the requirements for synthetic transmission oils for ZF automatic gearboxes, in particular the 8HP, 9HP series, as well as 6HP and 5HP, which are installed in passenger and light‑commercial vehicles. Technically, TE‑ML 11B requires a high viscosity index, stability at high temperatures, excellent oxidation and wear protection, and optimized friction characteristics for smooth gear shifts and long‑term operation of the torque converter. Oils that meet this approval are compatible with catalyst and DPF systems, ensuring safe regeneration of soot filters without increased soot emissions. Although TE‑ML 11B is a newer version, it is backward compatible with earlier ZF specifications TE‑ML 02B, TE‑ML 02F and TE‑ML 03D, allowing replacement of older lubricants without loss of protective properties. Using oil approved to TE‑ML 11B guarantees compliance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, enhances transmission reliability and extends its service life.
