ZF TE-ML 09
The ZF TE‑ML 09 specification is a requirement from the German transmission manufacturer ZF Friedrichshafen AG for lubricants intended for medium‑ and heavy‑duty manual gearboxes. It defines a minimum viscosity of SAE 75 W 90, high thermal resistance up to +120 °C, stability under high loads, protection against wear and corrosion, and compatibility with synchronizers that have copper and bronze elements. The specification is targeted at ZF 4HP, 5HP, 6HP and 8HP transmissions installed in passenger cars, off‑road vehicles and light commercial vehicles, as well as in some trucks. XENUM products that meet TE‑ML 09 (e.g., XA‑TRAN NIPPON ATF, XA‑TRAN DX VI, XA‑TRAN UNI) provide the required shift smoothness, noise reduction and extend gearbox service life without harming catalysts or particulate filters. By choosing an oil approved to this specification you receive a guarantee of compliance with ZF’s technical recommendations and the ability to safely use it in newer transmissions that support TE‑ML 09 compatibility.
