ZF TE-ML 07C

The ZF TE‑ML 07C specification defines the requirements for transmission oils for ZF automatic gearboxes, in particular the 4HP, 5HP, 6HP and 8HP series, installed in passenger cars, commercial vehicles and trucks. Oil that complies with TE‑ML 07C must have stable viscosity at high temperatures, low oxidation level and high resistance to mechanical load, ensuring smooth clutch engagement of the hydraulic torque converter, protection of gear wheels and bearings from wear. The specification calls for the use of synthetic base oils with additives for oxidation, corrosion and deposit control, which maintain long‑term thermal stability and minimize the risk of overheating during intensive operation. TE‑ML 07C is compatible with diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration systems and catalysts, as it does not contain sulfate or phosphorus additives that could poison them. Products approved under TE‑ML 07C often also meet the earlier ZF TE‑ML 07 approval, allowing their use in older transmission models without loss of protective properties.
