ZF TE-ML 07A

The ZF TE‑ML 07A specification defines the requirements for transmission lubricants for manual gearboxes of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, in particular for the ZF 4HP, 5HP and 6HP series. Oil that meets TE‑ML 07A must have a viscosity in the range 75‑90 W, comply with the GL‑4/5 class, exhibit high resistance to oxidation and wear, and also provide protection when operating at temperatures up to 120 °C and transmitting torque up to 350 N·m. Technical requirements include low microscopic abrasiveness, a controlled micro‑structure to preserve gear geometry, and compatibility with the gearbox’s hydraulic systems. The specification is targeted at gasoline and diesel engines that use traditional manual transmissions without a DPF system, therefore there are no additional SAPS requirements. If your vehicle is already approved under the newer ZF TE‑ML 07C, lubricants that meet 07A remain compatible and provide an equivalent level of protection.
