ZF TE-ML 04D

The ZF TE‑ML 04D specification defines the requirements for transmission oils for ZF 4HP series automatic gearboxes installed in passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Oil that meets this standard must have high thermal resistance, stability across a wide temperature range (‑40 °C to +120 °C) and provide controlled friction for smooth operation of hydraulic clutches and planetary gears. Technical requirements include a minimum viscosity of 75 W‑90 (GL‑4/5), protection against oxidation, corrosion and wear, as well as compatibility with the gearbox’s seals and gaskets. The specification also provides compatibility with diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration systems when used in diesel engines, as the lubricant does not contain high levels of SAPS. XENUM products bearing the TE‑ML 04D marking can simultaneously meet the older ZF TE‑ML 03D requirements, allowing their use in upgraded transmissions without risking warranty loss.
