ZF TE-ML 03D

Spec ZF TE-ML 03D – is a requirement from ZF Friedrichshafen for transmission lubricants, intended for automatic gearboxes with high torque, including series 6HP, 8HP, 9HP, as well as some newer 5HP, used in passenger cars, commercial and heavy‑duty vehicles. Technically it requires a synthetic base with a viscosity of 75‑90 W (SAE), stability at temperatures up to 150 °C, low level of enzymatic oxidation, high anti‑wear and anti‑foaming properties, and the ability to maintain proper operation of hydraulic valves and friction elements. The specification guarantees compatibility with diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration systems and catalysts, as the oil contains no sulfate or phosphorus additives that could contaminate these devices. Use of oils that meet ZF TE-ML 03D provides long‑term thermal stability, protection against oxidation and wear, and preserves optimal torque transfer under intensive load conditions. XENUM products that have this approval (e.g., X‑TRAN 75W90 GL4/5, X‑TRAN 75W90 GL5, XT‑PRO 75W140, XA‑TRAN DX IIIH) fully meet the TE‑ML 03D requirements and can be used as a replacement for older ATF under the TE‑ML 02B standard without loss of compatibility.
