ZF ML07C
ZF ML07C is a technical specification developed by the German transmission manufacturer ZF Friedrichshafen AG that defines the requirements for lubricants for high‑load manual gearboxes. To meet the required parameters, the oil must have a viscosity of SAE 75W‑90, high oxidation resistance, protection against wear under high pressures and temperatures up to 120 °C, and be compatible with synchronizer materials (copper, bronze, aluminum). The specification is aimed at passenger and commercial vehicles with ZF automatic and manual transmissions of the 4HP, 5HP, 6HP and 8HP series, as well as trucks and off‑road vehicles where the same oil is used for the engine and gearbox. Because ML07C does not impose restrictions on particulate filter systems, it is suitable for both gasoline and diesel engines without risk of catalyst damage. When selecting a lubricant that meets ZF ML07C, you obtain guaranteed protection for gears, bearings and synchronizers, and the ability to use newer approvals ZF ML07D or ML07E without losing compatibility with older transmissions.
