ZF 5HP

Specification ZF 5HP is a requirement from ZF Friedrichshafen AG for transmission oils, intended exclusively for 5‑speed automatic gearboxes of the 5HP series, which are installed in passenger cars and light commercial vehicles with gasoline and diesel engines. Oil that meets ZF 5HP must provide a stable viscosity in the range of 6.5‑9.5 cSt at 100 °C, high thermal resistance up to 150 °C, protection against oxidation, wear and corrosion, as well as adequate foam generation for proper hydraulic pressure. Such lubricants support the operation of valve and friction elements, reduce the risk of overheating and extend bearing life in electronically controlled transmissions. Although ZF 5HP does not contain special requirements for particulate filter systems, it is compatible with catalysts and DPFs used in modern diesel engines, therefore it does not affect their operation.
