Subaru ECVT

Subaru ECVT specification is the official approval from Subaru Motor Corp. for transmission oils intended exclusively for electronic variants of continuously variable transmissions (ECVT) used in gasoline and diesel Subaru models, including Outback, Forester, XV and Legacy. The technical requirement calls for a stable coefficient of friction, high thermal resistance and oxidation protection, ensuring smooth operation of planetary gears, preventing overheating and wear under high torque. The oil must be compatible with electronic transmission control systems and must not affect the operation of the emissions control system, as ECVT does not use a DPF or catalyst. Using a product that meets Subaru ECVT (for example XENUM XA‑TRAN CVT) guarantees compliance with the manufacturer's warranty conditions and extends the transmission service life.
