SUBARU ATF AW-1

Specification SUBARU ATF AW‑1 is the official approval from Subaru Motor Corp. for transmission fluids intended exclusively for automatic gearboxes, including conventional automatic transmissions, CVT‑LV, Lineartronic and their high‑torque variants. Technically, AW‑1 requires stable viscosity over a wide temperature range, high oxidation resistance, effective wear protection and foam control, as well as a special friction modifier that ensures precise operation of hydraulic and electronic shift control systems. This specification is applied in Subaru gasoline and diesel engines installed in the Legacy, Outback, Impreza, Forester and XV models, where automatic or continuously variable transmissions are used. Using a fluid that meets SUBARU ATF AW‑1 guarantees optimal torque transfer, minimal gear wear and preservation of the manufacturer’s warranty conditions, while not requiring special additives for DPF or catalyst systems.
