SCANIA STO 1.0 – is a technical approval developed by Swedish Scania AB for heavy‑duty diesel engines of trucks and buses, including models with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system and diesel particulate filters (DPF). The specification sets the minimum oil viscosity, requirements for wear protection, oxidation, corrosion and high‑temperature stability, as well as compatibility with after‑treatment systems, allowing the efficiency of catalysts to be maintained and emissions to be reduced. Oils that meet SCANIA STO 1.0 provide long‑lasting operation of cylinder and turbocharger components, reduce fuel consumption and extend the service life of the DPF.
