5W-50

The designation 5W‑50 according to the SAE J300 standard means that the lubricant has a cold viscosity equivalent to 5 W and retains a high viscosity of 50 cSt at 100 °C, providing a durable protective film under high thermal load. This combination makes it ideal for high‑performance gasoline and diesel engines operating in hot climate conditions, in sports, turbocharged, V‑8 and heavy‑duty units, as well as engines with increased torque. 5W‑50 provides rapid cooling during cold start thanks to the low “W” viscosity, while simultaneously maintaining sufficient oil thickness at high temperatures, preventing wear and overheating. Because this viscosity class is not low‑sulphate, it is generally not recommended for engines with DPF systems or catalysts that require low‑SAPS formulations, unless special additives are specified. In the XENUM catalog you will find two products – XPG 5W50 and X1 5W50 – that meet this specification and are suitable for the listed engine types.
