10W-40

The designation 10W‑40 according to the SAE J300 standard indicates a cold viscosity W = 10 (oil flow at –30 °C) and a viscosity grade 40 at 100 °C, providing quick engine start in cold weather and a stable protective film at high operating temperatures. This viscosity is optimal for gasoline and diesel engines of medium and high power, including trucks, off‑road vehicles, older V8 engines and high‑mileage units. Many 10W‑40 oils from XENUM are formulated with low SAPS content, making them compatible with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems and particulate filters (DPF) without compromising their efficiency. Oils of this grade are also suitable for engines requiring high protection against wear, oxidation and corrosion, including hybrid and graphite formulations. When necessary, it is safe to switch to newer 10W‑30 or 15W‑40 oils, which retain compatibility with the same engine types.
