RENAULT RN17 Level

Renault RN17 Level specification – an OEM approval developed for high‑performance gasoline engines of the Renault Group and its partners (Nissan, Dacia). Technically, RN17 requires a synthetic oil with a viscosity of 5W‑40, meeting ACEA A3/B4 and API SN/CF, providing consistent wear protection, deposit control and optimal fuel economy across a wide temperature range. Oil that meets RN17 is compatible with three‑way catalysts and low‑SAPS technologies, preventing their clogging. The specification is targeted at engines such as Renault K4M, K9K, M5R, as well as gasoline units Nissan HR15DE, QR20DE and Dacia D4F, which are commonly installed in passenger models Clio, Megane, Captur, Duster, Qashqai. If your vehicle already runs on RN17, it will remain compatible with newer Renault approvals RLD‑2 and RLD‑3, which extend the requirements for better wear and economy performance without changing the basic parameters.
