RENAULT RLD-2

Renault RLD‑2 specification – an OEM approval for diesel engines of Renault passenger and commercial vehicles, developed taking into account requirements for wear protection, viscosity stability and compatibility with after‑treatment systems. RLD‑2 calls for the use of engine oils with viscosities in the range 5W‑40…10W‑40, which provide effective lubrication over a wide temperature range, deposit control and corrosion protection. The specification requires low SAPS content, making it suitable for engines equipped with diesel particulate filters (DPF) and catalysts, preventing their fouling. Oils that meet RLD‑2 are suitable for Renault gasoline and diesel power units with turbocharging, including models up to 2.5 L and newer diesel blocks with EGR systems.
