RENAULT RGD

Renault RGD specification is an OEM approval developed by Renault Group to ensure optimal performance of engine oils in their diesel engines for passenger and commercial vehicles, including the Master, Kangoo, Trafic models and cargo units equipped with after‑sale cleaning systems (DPF). Technically, RGD requires the oil to have a certain viscosity (typically 10W‑40), low content of sulfate, aromatic and phosphorus compounds (SAPS) to prevent soot filter fouling, as well as high levels of wear, oxidation and corrosion protection across a wide temperature range. An oil that meets RGD provides a stable lubricating film, reduces deposit formation in the combustion chamber and maintains catalyst efficiency. Such oil is suitable both for new engines and for upgrading older units that previously operated under RD‑2 or RLD standards, without risk of losing compatibility.
