VAG G-055-025
VAG G‑055‑025 is the Volkswagen Group technical approval for automatic transmissions, which defines the requirements for viscosity, thermal stability, oxidation resistance and friction properties needed for the reliable operation of 6‑ and 7‑speed gearboxes (e.g., 6HP, 7HP, 7DSG) in gasoline and diesel passenger cars of VW, Audi, Škoda and Seat. The specification requires stable viscosity 5W‑30/5W‑40 at low temperatures, rapid warm‑up and retention of friction characteristics throughout the service life, preventing overheating and wear of synchronizers. Since G‑055‑025 does not contain SAPS restrictions, it is suitable for transmissions that do not have downstream DPF systems or three‑way catalysts. In the XENUM catalogue this approval is represented by three products: XA‑TRAN M14, XA‑TRAN NIPPON ATF and XA‑TRAN DX VI, which provide full compatibility with VAG requirements and guarantee long‑lasting gearbox protection.
