Piaggio Hexagon
Piaggio Hexagon approval is a technical requirement from the manufacturer Piaggio for two‑stroke engine oils intended for scooters, motorcycles and light units with fuel injection systems. An oil that meets this standard must provide low residual combustion product content (low ash), high detergency, oxidation resistance and effective protection against wear of piston rings and cylinder, as well as minimize smoke and odor. The specification calls for compatibility with catalysts and DPF systems installed on new Piaggio scooter models, so the lubricant does not increase emission levels nor foul after‑treatment components. The primary target group is Piaggio Hexagon engines, including the Vespa 50 cc, Liberty 125 cc series and other two‑stroke blocks, as well as related models from other brands that use similar requirements. Oils approved under Piaggio Hexagon are usually also compatible with the earlier Piaggio 2T/2T+ specifications, allowing safe use in older models without additional adaptations.
