Mopar CVTF+4
The Mopar CVTF+4 specification is Chrysler (Mopar)’s requirement for transmission oils intended for continuously variable (CVT) gearboxes installed in passenger models of Jeep, Dodge, Ram and their hybrid variants. Oil that meets CVTF+4 must provide stable viscosity over a wide temperature range (from –40 °C to +100 °C), high oxidation resistance, wear and corrosion protection, and an optimal friction coefficient for smooth transition between CVT drive belts. Technical control includes requirements for anti‑foaming, overheating protection and compatibility with metal and polymer transmission components, extending the service life of bearings and planetary gears. The specification does not impose special requirements on post‑catalytic treatment systems, so the oil is compatible with catalysts installed in gasoline or diesel engines. Although CVTF+4 replaces the previous Mopar CVTF+3, it remains fully backward compatible with transmissions designed to older standards, allowing its use in existing models without modification.
