KIA SP-III
The KIA SP‑III specification is a technical approval developed by the Korean conglomerate Kia for new gasoline and light‑diesel engines that operate over a wide temperature range. Oil that meets SP‑III must comply with API SN/CF, ACEA A5/B5 requirements, have a viscosity of 5W‑30 or 5W‑40, provide low wear, deposit control and high‑temperature stability, as well as support fuel economy and service intervals up to 10 000 km. The specification mandates compatibility with catalytic and after‑treatment systems, therefore the lubricant contains low levels of sulfate, aromatic and phosphorus compounds (low‑SAPS). The primary models for which SP‑III was developed are Kia Rio, Ceed, Sportage, Sorento, Optima, Stinger and their 1.6‑3.3 L engines (e.g., G4FA, G4FD, Theta II). If your workshop needs oil that meets this requirement, the XENUM catalog offers the XA‑TRAN CVT transmission oil approved to KIA SP‑III, guaranteeing protection of the engine and post‑catalytic components.
