FORM MERCON LV

FORM MERCON LV — is the official Ford specification for low‑viscosity transmission fluids, developed for automatic gearboxes that require improved protection at high temperatures and reduced energy losses. The specification calls for a minimum viscosity of 5 W‑30/5 W‑40, high oxidation resistance, wear control and compatibility with friction elements, including synthetic and semi‑synthetic base oils. MERCON LV is approved for new Ford automatic transmissions such as 6R, 6F, 6R140, 10R80 and others, and can also be used in some transmissions from other manufacturers that have adopted this requirement. A MERCON LV‑compliant fluid does not contain high levels of SAPS, so it operates safely with catalysts and DPFs in cases where the transmission is integrated with after‑treatment systems. The XENUM XA‑TRAN DX VI product (formerly XA‑DEXRON VI) meets this specification and, thanks to compatibility with previous Mercon and Mercon V approvals, can be applied to older models without loss of protective properties.
