Dexron IIIF

The Dexron IIIF specification is the official General Motors approval for synthetic transmission fluids designed for the latest generation automatic gearboxes (e.g., 6L80, 6L90, 6T70, 6T90, 8L90 and others). Technically, Dexron IIIF requires stable viscosity at 100 °C (≈9.5 cSt), high wear, oxidation and foaming resistance, as well as a precisely defined friction coefficient that ensures smooth shifting and protection against overheating. The specification is targeted at gasoline and diesel engines of passenger cars equipped with GM automatic transmissions, as well as certain off‑road and commercial models that adopt Dexron IIIF as a replacement. Oils approved to Dexron IIIF are compatible with the older Dexron III and Dexron IIIG requirements, allowing safe use in vehicles with previous‑generation gearboxes without compromising warranty obligations.
