DAF
DAF approval is an OEM requirement set by the Dutch truck manufacturer DAF for lubricants used in their diesel engines and gearboxes. Technically it entails compliance with defined viscosity parameters (e.g., 75W‑90), high oxidation resistance, wear protection (AW‑30) and retention of torque under high loads, ensuring long‑lasting operation of heavy V8‑V12 engines and their manual or automated transmissions. The specification also guarantees compatibility with DAF after‑treatment systems, including DPF and catalysts, without increased emission of sulfate particles (SAPS). Products bearing the DAF mark are suitable for standard DAF 6 L, 9 L and 12 L engines, as well as for 6‑speed manual gearboxes and 12‑speed automatic boxes. In our catalogue this approval covers, in particular, the transmission oil XENUM X‑TRAN 75W90 GL‑4/5, which also meets current API GL‑4 and ACEA A3/B3 requirements, making it compatible with older DAF models without loss of warranty conditions.
