Allison TES-228

Allison TES‑228 is a technical approval developed by Allison Transmission for automatic hydraulic gearboxes installed in heavy trucks, buses and special equipment. The specification requires the lubricant to have high thermal resistance, viscosity stability over a wide temperature range, and excellent friction properties that ensure smooth shifting and protection of friction elements. Oils that meet TES‑228 must have low oxidation tendency, high resistance to deposit formation, and retention of shear stability over long service intervals. This requirement is targeted at transmissions of series 2000, 3000 and 4000 (including 3000‑S, 4000‑S), which are often used with diesel engines rated from 250 to 600 kW. Since the specification applies only to transmissions, it does not impose restrictions regarding SAPS, DPF or engine catalytic systems, and selecting a lubricant marked Allison TES‑228 in the XENUM catalog guarantees compliance with these requirements and the durability of your gearbox.
