Allison C-4

Allison C‑4 approval is a technical specification for automatic transmission lubricants, developed by Allison Transmission to ensure reliable operation of their hydraulic gearboxes in heavy commercial vehicles. A lubricant that meets C‑4 must have high viscosity stability over a wide temperature range, excellent wear and corrosion protection, low foaming, and compatibility with seals and friction disc materials, including torque converters. The specification requires compliance with API GL‑4/GL‑5, SAE J306 and thermal‑resistance requirements, allowing the use of Allison 2500, 3000, 4000 and 5000 series transmissions in trucks, buses, construction equipment and specialized fleets. Because this lubricant is intended for transmissions, it contains no SAPS restrictions and does not affect the operation of after‑treatment systems such as DPF or catalytic converters, which apply only to engine oils. In the XENUM catalog, products such as XENUM XA‑TRAN M14, XA‑TRAN DX III H and other transmission oils are marked Allison C‑4, guaranteeing compatibility and long‑lasting protection for your transmission.
