7G-Tronic Plus

Specification 7G‑Tronic Plus is Mercedes‑Benz approval for 7‑speed automatic transmissions (7G‑Tronic) with increased requirements for viscosity, thermal stability and friction characteristics. Oil meeting this standard must have stable viscosity over the range 0‑120 °C, low volatility, high shear stability and a special friction indicator that ensures smooth shifting and protects clutch plates, torque converter and bearings. 7G‑Tronic Plus is used in passenger and commercial Mercedes‑Benz models (E‑Class, S‑Class, C‑Class, GLE, GLS, etc.) equipped with 7G‑Tronic transmissions, as well as in some off‑road vehicles that use a similar module. Oils approved under 7G‑Tronic Plus are also compatible with the earlier MB 236.81/236.93 requirements, allowing safe use in older transmissions without voiding warranty. They do not contain additives that harm catalysts or DPFs and support the operation of post‑catalytic systems.
