The NISSAN NS‑3 specification is Nissan’s OEM approval for automatic transmission fluids designed to meet the requirements of modern gearboxes, including traditional 6‑speed automatic transmissions and continuously variable transmissions (CVT). Technically, NS‑3 requires stable viscosity at 40 °C and 100 °C, high oxidation resistance, effective wear protection, and maintenance of an optimal friction coefficient, which ensures smooth gear shifts and prevents overheating. The specification is targeted at Nissan gasoline and diesel engines installed in the Qashqai, X‑Trail, Altima, Maxima models, as well as in commercial variants with high torque.
