Specification NISSAN NS‑1 is Nissan’s OEM approval for automatic transmission fluids (ATF) designed for conventional gearboxes with hydraulic torque converter, installed in a wide range of Nissan models with gasoline and diesel engines, including Altima, Maxima, Pathfinder, X‑Trail and other older series. NS‑1 requires stable viscosity at 100 °C (≈7.5 cSt) and low fill temperature (≈−30 °C), which provides quick clutch engagement, smooth shifting and protection against overheating and oxidative degradation under high loads. The fluid meets the requirements for compatibility with Nissan seals and metal components, contains no additives that would harm catalysts or DPF, therefore it can be safely used in engines with after‑treatment systems.
