Mitsubishi J2 is the official engine oil specification approved by Mitsubishi Motors to ensure optimal engine performance. The requirements include viscosity 0W‑30/5W‑30 (or 5W‑40) in accordance with API SN/CF, ILSAC GF‑5, low SAPS content, high oxidative stability, wear and corrosion protection, deposit control. The specification is targeted at gasoline engines of Mitsubishi passenger and commercial vehicles, including turbocharged units, as well as diesel engines with after‑treatment systems (DPF) and catalyst, where low nitrogen‑oxide component is important. Using oils that meet J2 provides stable operation of the injection system, reduced fuel consumption and extended oil‑change intervals, meeting the manufacturer’s warranty requirements.
