MB 235.10

Approval MB 235.10 is a technical requirement from Mercedes‑Benz for automatic transmission fluids, developed to ensure a stable viscosity of 75 W‑80, high oxidation resistance and wear protection under intensive thermal load. Fluid that meets MB 235.10 is suitable for 7‑speed (7G‑Tronic) and 9‑speed (9G‑Tronic) automatic gearboxes and some dual‑clutch (DCT) systems in passenger and commercial Mercedes‑Benz vehicles, as well as for hydraulic power‑steering systems and transmission cooling systems. The specification calls for low micro‑abrasiveness, controlled friction characteristics and compatibility with metal and synthetic particle filters, allowing optimal transmission operation without adverse impact on the catalyst or DPF. Although MB 235.10 remains relevant for many models, newer approvals such as MB 236.10 offer an extended temperature range and increased protective action while remaining compatible with older transmissions, enabling a safe transition to a more modern formula.
