Mazda Type T-IV

Specification Mazda Type T‑IV is the official standard of Mazda Motor Corporation for transmission oils of automatic gearboxes. It defines requirements for viscosity, thermal stability, oxidation resistance and controlled friction coefficient, which ensure smooth shifting, wear protection and long‑term stability across a wide range of operating temperatures. The current standard is intended for Mazda automatic transmissions with 4‑speed (e.g., F5A‑EL) and 5‑speed (e.g., F5A‑ELV) in models Mazda 3, 6, CX‑5, CX‑7, etc. It is compatible with gasoline and diesel powertrains, including versions equipped with a diesel particulate filter, as it does not contain high levels of SAPS, allowing DPF efficiency to be maintained. Using oil that meets Mazda Type T‑IV guarantees proper operation of hydraulic components, prevents overheating and preserves the factory transmission parameters without risking warranty loss.
