MAN 342 M3 approval – this is MAN’s technical requirement for engine oils, intended for medium‑ and heavy‑series diesel engines of their trucks, buses and tractors, in particular engine types D08, D20, D38 and D26, operating across a wide range of loads and temperatures. Oil that meets 342 M3 provides high oxidation resistance, wear protection and retention of properties at high temperatures, and also supports stable operation of the after‑treatment system (DPF) and catalysts, meeting low‑SAPS requirements. The specification calls for a minimum viscosity of 15W‑40 or 10W‑40, which allows maintaining optimal oil pressure during cold start and prolonged operating conditions.
