JLR TYK500050

Specification JLR TYK500050 is a technical standard developed by Jaguar Land Rover for automatic transmissions, which defines requirements for viscosity, thermal stability, friction properties and wear protection. It calls for the use of synthetic base oils with a high viscosity index, stable at temperatures up to 150 °C, as well as special additives that prevent oxidation, corrosion and deposit formation in the transmission control system. This standard applies to gasoline and diesel powertrains of Jaguar (XF, XE, F‑Pace) and Land Rover (Discovery, Range Rover, Evoque), including hybrid models equipped with electronically controlled automatic gearboxes. The specification does not impose special requirements regarding SAPS or DPF, as it concerns only transmission oil, but it is compatible with engines that have emission after‑treatment systems. Using oil that meets JLR TYK500050 provides smooth clutch operation, longer service intervals and increased transmission reliability under demanding operating conditions.
