Jaguar JLM 20238

Specification Jaguar JLM 20238 is the official JLR‑approved standard for synthetic motor oils 5W‑30, developed for gasoline and diesel engines with turbocharging, including hybrid powertrains Jaguar XE, XF, F‑PACE and Land Rover Discovery, Range Rover Evoque and other mid‑range models. Technically JLM 20238 requires a low content of sulfate, aromatic and phosphorus compounds (low‑SAPS), which ensures compatibility with emission after‑treatment systems, including DPF and catalysts, and prevents their premature fouling. Additives in the formula guarantee viscosity stability at high temperatures, wear protection, deposit control and an extended filter‑change interval. The specification is targeted at engines operating in harsh climate conditions and under high load, providing ceramic protection and reduced fuel consumption. Although JLM 20238 remains current, newer JLR specifications such as JLM 20292 can be used as a backward‑compatible alternative without compromising warranty requirements.
