MA2

JASO MA2 – is a Japanese technical standard developed specifically for 4‑stroke motorcycle engines that operate under high load and at high RPMs. The specification requires increased oxidation resistance, better wear‑protective properties and the retention of optimal viscosity over a wide temperature range, which ensures stable operation of wet clutches and prevents their slippage. Oils that meet JASO MA2 are suitable for sport, super‑moto and touring motorcycles, as well as for powerful scooters where high thermal stability and protection against deposits in the combustion chamber are required. Although the standard does not require special compatibility with DPF systems or catalytic converters, most modern XENUM formulas, such as X1‑BIKE 10W50 or PRO‑BIKE 5W40, meet these requirements and remain compatible with newer JASO MA versions, allowing the lubricant to be safely upgraded without losing warranty compliance.
