JASO ATF M-II

JASO ATF M‑II is a transmission fluid specification developed by the Japanese Automotive Association for automatic gearboxes and continuously variable (CVT) transmissions, primarily in motorcycles and some passenger cars with Japanese automatics. Fluid meeting M‑II must provide a stable coefficient of friction, high oxidation resistance, wear and corrosion protection, and maintain the required viscosity at low (-30 °C) and high (+100 °C) temperatures, guaranteeing smooth clutch operation in wet systems. Technical requirements include low foaming, rapid cooling and the ability to withstand thermal loads without loss of dielectric properties. The specification is targeted at engines and transmissions from Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and others that require JASO ATF M‑II, and is compatible with newer versions JASO ATF M‑III and M‑V, allowing safe use in updated models without voiding warranty.
