JASO ATF 3317

JASO ATF 3317 is a Japanese standard that defines the requirements for automatic transmission fluids, in particular their viscosity (V‑40 ≈ 7.5 cSt, V‑100 ≈ 2.5 cSt), high‑temperature stability, low tendency to oxidation, wear protection and a controlled friction characteristic for smooth clutch engagement in gearboxes. The specification is aimed at automatic gearboxes, including traditional 4‑ and 5‑speed, planetary and continuously variable (CVT) transmissions installed in passenger cars and motorcycles of Japanese manufacturers. Fluid that meets JASO ATF 3317 provides stable operation of the torque‑control system, prevents overheating and deposit formation in pumps and valves. It is compatible with transmissions that require JASO ATF D‑II or JASO ATF F‑1, therefore it can be used as a replacement when the manufacturer has not specified another specific standard. When selecting XENUM products, the JASO ATF 3317 label helps quickly find transmission oils such as XA‑TRAN DX VI that meet these requirements.
