Specification HYUNDAI/KIA 9683 is the official transmission oil standard developed by Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors to ensure optimal operation of their automatic gearboxes, including traditional hydraulic automatic transmissions, CVT, DCT and hybrid transmissions. Oil that meets 9683 must have a defined viscosity range, high‑temperature stability, low foaming, and special friction characteristics that guarantee smooth gear shifts and protection of gear teeth. This approved product is suitable for a wide range of gasoline and diesel engines from Hyundai and Kia installed in models such as Hyundai Santa Fe, Tucson, Kia Sorento, Sportage and newer hybrid versions that use electronic transmission control. Since 9683 applies only to the transmission system, requirements for SAPS, DPF or catalyst do not apply, and selecting oil with this approval helps preserve warranty conditions and extend transmission life.
