HONDA ATF-Z1

The Honda ATF‑Z1 specification defines the requirements for transmission fluid developed specifically for Honda and Acura automatic gearboxes. It is a synthetic or semi‑synthetic fluid with controlled viscosity, high thermal stability and stable friction characteristics, providing smooth gear shifts, preventing overheating and foaming, and protecting gears and valves from wear and corrosion. ATF‑Z1 is intended for gasoline and hybrid models with conventional automatic transmissions (4‑, 5‑ and 6‑speed) and some early CVTs installed in Civic, Accord, CR‑V, MDX and others. It meets Honda’s requirements for compatibility with catalysts and emission control systems, contains no high levels of SAPS, allowing safe operation in vehicles equipped with DPF.
