Honda Acura DW-1

The Honda Acura DW‑1 specification is an OEM approval for automatic transmissions, developed by Honda Motor Co. for a wide range of Honda and Acura models, including conventional automatic gearboxes, CVT, and hybrid variants. Technically, DW‑1 requires a transmission oil with high thermal resistance, stable viscosity at 100 °C (typically SAE VG‑10), and the ability to resist oxidation, corrosion, and deposit formation on gears and friction elements. Thanks to special additives, the oil provides smooth gear shifts, wear protection under high loads, and maintains optimal system pressure. The specification is targeted at gasoline and hybrid Honda/Acura engines installed in models such as Civic, Accord, CR‑V, Insight, NSX and their equivalents, where an automatic transmission is used.
