GM DEXRON VI
GM DEXRON VI is the latest General Motors approval for automatic transmission fluids, which sets requirements for viscosity, thermal stability, oxidation resistance, wear protection, and friction control. Technically, DEXRON VI provides stable viscosity over a wide temperature range (from –40 °C to +150 °C), high resistance to breakdown under high loads, and effective prevention of deposit formation in valve and friction components. The specification is targeted at automatic transmissions across a broad range of GM models – from passenger cars Chevrolet Malibu, Cruze, Cadillac ATS to SUVs Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra and commercial trucks, including 6‑, 8‑speed and CVT systems. DEXRON VI contains no SAPS and does not affect the operation of catalysts or DPF systems, making it suitable for any GM transmission units without additional restrictions. Although this is the newest approval, it is fully compatible with older requirements DEXRON V, DEXRON III F/G/H, providing increased protection and durability even in existing gearboxes.
