GM DEXRON II E

GM DEXRON II E is a General Motors approval for automatic transmissions that defines the requirements for viscosity, thermal stability and friction properties of transmission oil. Oil that meets DEXRON II E must have a base viscosity SAE 20‑40 at 100 °C, provide stable hydro‑dynamic torque transfer, have high oxidation resistance, wear protection and control of deposit formation in gear sets. The specification is targeted at older GM automatic transmissions, in particular the TH200, TH350, 4L30‑E, 4L60‑E and 4L80‑E series, as well as some non‑GM gearboxes that list DEXRON II E in their technical documentation.
