Specification FORD MERCON V is the official transmission oil standard developed by Ford Motor Company for automatic transmissions (AT) with traditional hydraulic control, including 4‑, 5‑ and 6‑speed transmissions for passenger and commercial vehicles. MERCON V sets requirements for viscosity (typically 75W‑90), oxidation stability, protection against gear wear and friction elements, as well as compatibility with seals and gaskets, ensuring long‑lasting operation without overheating. This standard is suitable for gasoline and diesel engines connected to the transmission that are not equipped with diesel particulate filter (DPF) systems and do not require low‑SAP (SAPS) formulations.
