FORD M2C166-H

Specification FORD M2C166‑H is the official Ford standard for hydraulic lubricants used in power steering systems, brake hydro‑boosters and other hydraulic components. Technical requirements include stable viscosity over a wide temperature range, high oxidation resistance, wear and corrosion protection, as well as compatibility with seals and metals used in modern electronic power‑steering systems. This standard is targeted at gasoline and diesel engines of Ford passenger cars and light trucks, including models with electric power steering (EPS). Lubricants that meet M2C166‑H do not contain high levels of SAPS, therefore they are safe for catalysts and DPF systems, although the specification does not require separate approved compatibility.
