FORD CVT23

Specification FORD CVT23 is Ford’s official standard for transmission oils, intended exclusively for continuously variable transmission (CVT) gearboxes in the brand’s passenger cars, including Focus, Fiesta, C‑MAX and their hybrid versions. The technical requirement includes viscosity in the range 5W‑30 – 10W‑30, high oxidation resistance and molecular size, providing a stable friction coefficient required for smooth transition between gear ratios and protection of metal gears from wear. The oil must have low foaming tendency, good cold flow for quick start, and high thermal stability, preventing degradation at temperatures up to 120 °C. The specification provides compatibility with diesel particulate filter (DPF) systems and catalysts, therefore it is suitable for engines operating with low sulfate, aromatic and phosphorus compounds (Low‑SAPs). Using oil that meets FORD CVT23 guarantees compliance with Ford warranty conditions and extends the service life of the CVT, minimizing the risk of premature wear.
